Cape Cod Family Vacation
Planning a Cape Cod family vacation for this Summer has me looking back at photos of the beaches, things to do and restaurants from our trip last year! (Read: where to get the best lobster roll dripping in butter… I’m drooling right now!)
top 5 best beaches for travelling with kids in cape cod
White Crest Beach in Wellfleet (my number one favourite beach of all time and where most of these photos are from!)
These are the best beaches for kids as they have long, low tides which means a lot of beachy sand to play in in front of the dune and no huge waves!
Tudor and Aura love to play with the fishies that end up in the tidal pools. We like to make little aquariums in our buckets - but of course we release them after play time!
Some of you may not know that I was a Division 1 swimmer in college for UMASS and spent my summers lifeguarding for the Cape Cod National Seashore so I really know The Cape in and out… from the days of toga parties to now having a family with young children looking to build sandcastles!
my favourite restaurants in cape cod
Now that we live in California, we rented a VRBO house last summer in Falmouth and the photo above was taken at Falmouth Heights Beach and they have the most spectacular sunsets! The sand was like white powder which the kids had a blast playing in.
Looking back at these pictures I can’t quite believe how big Aura has grown in a year!
I used to be big in to body boarding and for those in to that, the above photo was taken at White Crest Beach which has the best waves! Be sure to pack your flippers!
This picture was taken at our VRBO house in Falmouth and we splurged out to have one with a pool! Looking at this photo makes me want to remind you guys about something very close to my heart which is water safety.
Water safety month has just passed and I want to let you guys know I’ve got a bunch of posts up about how to stay safe with your kids in the water this summer! You can read the posts below:
If you are heading to the Cape this year and have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out! What’s your favourite vacation to take either with your kids now or back when you were a kid yourself?
