Best Family Vacation to Rush Creek Lodge in Yosemite National Park
We brought our summer to a close with the best family vacation to Yosemite National Park. As you know, we’re a family that loves to travel and get outdoors, so this seemed like the perfect family holiday for some quality time! Psst… you can get an annual pass to visit all the Nation’s National Parks for $85!
This is us at the showstopper! The very top of Glacier Point. The view is breathtaking, and it looks like we’re right on the edge but don’t worry… it’s actually about 20 feet in front of the overlook!
Part of the content in this blog post was gifted by Rush Creek Lodge in Yosemite National Park. All thoughts, words and opinions are my own.
We decided to stay at Rush Creek Lodge for 3 nights and it was such a great location to enjoy the park as a family. Rush Creek Lodge also offer Guided Daily Tours which are great if your kids are 4 or older!
There was so much for us to do as a family which was awesome. On the first night, James, the guy at the activities desk, talked us through everything and helped us plan our stay which was super helpful.
There were bikes for hire at the Yosemite Valley visitor’s center and so much information on flat hiking trails across the park with views of El Capitan and Half Dome.
There were so many Daily Activities to keep us busy and we could easily have spent a whole week or more there!
kids zip lines
60-foot embankment slide
bocce ball
horseshoes
life-size checkers
corn hole or ‘bags’
nightly s’mores around the fire
nature crafts
games on our poolside terrace
ping pong
wilderness talks
various seasonal activities, and more.
The food options were great for the whole family, especially our little picky eaters!
On-site there is a Tavern and a main dining room, and we preferred to eat in the main dining room. The food was delicious! It’s all home-style, comfort food which is just what you need after a long day outdoors.
We tried the Steak Frites & Salmon which were amazing! For kids, the mini hot-dogs and Mac and Cheese went down a big hit.
They brew their own Cold Brew on site and serve it with heavy cream and flavourings and ohhhhh Momma likey. One day I even bought a second one to take on the trails with us!
All of the staff were so attentive and available. They hosted nightly free s’mores at the on-site fire-it which was great for an after dinner treat.
Have you been to Yosemite? Where did you stay? I’d love to hear!
Love, Lynn
