Exploring Sonoma Coast Beaches, Family Style
Yes ladies….there is much more to Sonoma than just wineries! Take time to explore the beautiful beaches along the rugged Pacific coastline. As you may have noticed by now, we are a family that just wings it. We don’t plan exactly where we are going to end up. I love that my husband will go along with my crazy adventures even now with the kids! I think it’s important to just set aside plans and let your day just unfold as you explore.
We day tripped from Marin, CA as it’s only 1.5hrs north. There are a few ways to get there form the 101 highway, we decided to cut over to Bodega Bay and work our way up the coast. We stopped at many of the beaches along the coast and found one with especially cool rock formations, Goat Rock Beach.

We parked at the first lot and loaded up Tudor in a back pack carrier for a hike down to the beach. I had Aura in a BabyBjorn. It was a little steep at the final descent to the beach, but totally doable with these two.
The views were amazing of the rock formations and the beach was nice and flat. Yes, we did actually go in the water. Mom fail, we forgot his suit and luckily this mama packed extra diapers!
Love my big sun hat! A must for me and helps protect Aura in the carrier as well.
After we worked up an appetite, for lunch we found a food truck with fresh crabs set up in an empty lot. We love food trucks coming from Boston as they are hidden little secrets with the most delicious food. Don’t pass them up!
Hope my little glimpse of the Sonoma Coast gives you inspiration to visit! Remember, you don’t have to have a plan, just load up the car and head out! Just don’t forget the diaper bag…
