Behind the Scenes of our Holiday Photo Shoot!
I wanted to just share with you guys a little BTS action from our Holiday card photoshoot. As you know it never goes as planned, the weather didn’t want to play ball and poor Aura was sick all day. Nevertheless, we dressed everyone up in their holiday finest and headed out in to the fog… literally in to the fog!
We headed down to our little yacht club where all the boats were hidden on the water, it was such thick fog we could barely see in front of us! It ended up being really quite beautiful as we got a bunch of photos amongst the moody weather, stood over puddles and got some cool reflections.
We then headed out toward the end of the breaker wall and the kids could play with skimming stones and dirtying their lovely festive clothes by jumping in all the puddles! It was okay, it got Aura smiling after an otherwise not-fun day for her!
Tudor loves his little sister so much, he kept hugging her all day to try and make her better - so cute! And isn’t her outfit to die for?! Her little pig tails and pink cheeks were killing me. They look like little Janice & Jack models (psst.. wink wink Janie & Jack… they’re available!)
Then we headed up to the yacht club deck to get some photos sat on their patio furniture and shelter from the cold. You can usually see Richmond across the bay, but of course on this day you couldn’t see a thing! How typical that in a place like this, the one day we choose to shoot outside and it’s 46 degrees!
It ended up working perfectly regardless of the weather, as the kids got to play and get some fresh air. So glad I never cancelled it, as it’s always the unforeseen circumstances that end up giving us the best memories. Tudor & Aura were rewarded for their patience with warm cookies and snacks when we headed back inside.
So don’t worry Mommas, if you don’t have it all together (like really though do any of us?!) it always works out. We always see these perfect holiday photos but in the reality, it’s our imperfections that make our families perfect to us. I’d love to hear about your holiday shoots!
