Family Guide: Skiing & Snowboarding in Jungfrau, Switzerland

Here’s my need-to-know guide for taking winter sport vacations as a family with kids in the Jungfrau region in Switzerland. ❄️ Home to Grindelwald and Wengen, and the slopes of Kleine Scheidegg, Lauberhorn and Männlichen.

Here we are at the top of the Eiger Express Tram on Wengen in our Akova outfits

This year, we took to wengen in jungfrau, Switzerland 🇨🇭

This place is G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S… you’re catching your breath every time you glance over at the backdrop of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel so tiny and human!

  1. getting to Jungfrau, switzerland

Jungfrau is home to Grindelwald and Wengen, and the slopes of Kleine Scheidegg, Lauberhorn and Männlichen. We flew into Zurich and got the train pass to Wengen station before settling in to our chalet after four transfers.

2. Prepping for your day in Jungfrau, switzerland

  • We flew with our snowboard & ski boots, helmets and ski outfits

  • When we got off the train we headed over to Central Sport to rent our skis and snowboards

  • Head over to the mountain or online to grab your ski pass

5 Things to do in the jugfrau region 💡

One

‘The Top of Europe’ sits at a 3454m altitude and has a panoramic view of the Aletch Glacier - it is breathtaking. You jump on the train at The Eigergletscher and go through the mountains (our driver even let Tudor sit up front and help drive!)

There’s a cute cafe overlooking the glacier for lunch and it’s a gorgeous spot for taking in all that Jungfrau has to offer.

Two

The Eiger Express - the most modern tri-cable gondola that takes you from the Grindenwold terminal to very top at The Eigergletscher in 15 minutes. This gondola is huge and even has space in the floor for your skis!

Three

The kids loved riding Mürren’s steepest cable car (159% incline) in the world!

Four

Stopping to eat along Mürren for the insane gourmet food and the cool little hut you could hike up to.

Five

My favorite place (that I stopped at 3 times for their amazing coffee!) was Lich Willkommen restaurant in Eigernorwann.
