When doing Aura’s birthday party in the middle of quarantine, I knew I had to make it extra extra special for her. 3 is a big milestone! My little girl needed to feel special without seeing all her friends in a bouncy house in the backyard.
We’ve had birthdays in Palm Springs, at home with huge spreads of food and guests, in our garden with the grill going and friends under a huge tent, but never virtually! 2020 is the year of firsts, I guess. 💖
Aura’s 3rd birthday was definitely unlike any birthday party we’ve ever thrown before! We had to improvise… our favorite bakery was closed, so we had to buy a cake 🎂 from the grocery store. I had to panic buy balloons 🎈 and stay up all hours of the night making this arch… it turned out so good!
Aura and Tudor had such a great time seeing their friends on the screen, and when everyone joined in to sing Aura happy birthday it was so sweet. 😍
If you’re hosting a party for your kids during this time, get creative and have fun with it! I think a lot of the time we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to make parties next level for our kids, but that’s simply not possible during a lockdown when we all need to be staying home. They’ll have fun whatever happens, just use your imagination.🎉
