Outdoor Staycation with the kids and Polywood
Momma’s what’s more important than our kids’ futures? In our house we are making an effort to buy from brands that are Eco-friendly! ♻
We have teamed up with POLYWOOD who use lumber that is made from recycled plastic found in land-fills & the ocean! 🐋 They have a huge range of sustainable outdoor patio sets for kids and adults alike.

As most of you guys know we live on the water so marine life is important to us. We make a conscious effort to educate the kids about how important it is keeping the sea life safe, especially the kids favorites, blue whales and mermaids 🐋🧜🏾♂️
POLYWOOD was a natural choice for me when choosing to work with a company whose core values align with my own. Below you can see the positive impact they are having on the planet!
Genuine Recycling
Today, POLYWOOD recycles an average of up to 400,000 landfill-bound and ocean-bound plastic containers every day. When we brought recycling in-house, we primarily sourced recyclable plastics from local and regional partners. As we double down on our commitment to stop plastics from ever reaching our oceans, we’ve expanded our recycling process to incorporate globally-sourced ocean-bound plastic into our on-site plastic recycling center.
Truckloads of recycled plastic are transformed into genuine POLYWOOD lumber which is then used to construct our wide array of all-weather furniture. Learn more about our Genuine Recycling process below and how we transform everyday waste into beautiful outdoor furniture.

When I had to choose conversation patio sets I immediately LOVED the timeless design of the Vineyard rustic dining set I spent many summers vacationing on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. I chose the white because it matches our house and makes the natural wood of the deck POP! When the sun is shining and reflecting off of the water it makes me feel like I’m on ☀ vacation ☀
Thinking about my ideal outdoor space I think of warm summer evenings outside, having dinner with the neighbors and all of our kids having their own special table next to ours. (So they’re not interrupting our margarita cheers🍸!!)
With everything that has happened the last year and spending more time at home, making the most of this space became really important to me. Vacations have become Staycations and I wanted that vacation feeling right in my own backyard!
Making the most of the new easy clean tables we have had so much fun with paints and slime -everything you can think of!
The kids love having their friends over for dinner, sitting outside, eating, enjoying the sunshine in their own little space. This mama has enjoyed having our neighbors over for dinner and drinks and not having to worry if a chair leg is about to split or if I have more wood glue to hand!🙈

other accessories to complete your outdoor look
It was so much fun getting the kids to help style the new patio bistro set! We kept it super fun using bright colored plates and summery flowers as our centerpiece. I added these black candle holders as I think the contrast with the white table looks so cute. We put up some new outdoor lights which I think adds to the vacation feel!
Pro Tip - I even had custom bars cut at a welding place so they were the perfect height for the lights. It cost roughly $120
BEFORE
Let’s talk about our old furniture patio set… It was a large round table that sat six people, made of natural wood and was being held together with wood glue and clamps! A natural wood table and living on the water is not practical!! We had to sand and stain it every 2 years, which obviously we did not keep up on. The chairs were too big for the kids to move around and we didn’t have an area for the kids to be able to enjoy eating meals outside or getting messy doing activities. One day my husband and I kept noticing little tiny piles of dust on the decking… channelling my inner Nancy Drew I did some investigating and found some bees had eaten the inside of the chair legs and had made little homes for themselves!🐝 The legs started to split and this became unsafe even more so with two toddlers climbing on them.
After
Look at the difference! Straight away after putting the table and chairs together it completely changed our outdoor space!
The color just lifts this whole area and makes it so inviting! I no longer have the dreaded task of sanding and staining ever again as they’re salt water resistant!🥳 If you notice we no longer have cushions that have mildew as it was impossible to keep bringing them in and out with kids. The surface of the new seats is SO comfortable that you don’t need any cushions!
They are completely child friendly and easy to clean and durable (bye bye wood glue and clamps! 😉)
Also having a bench as part of the table set works really well when the kids sit on it, if we need a larger space when painting or if they’re eating dinner at the table with us.
KIDS Picnic TABLE
You’re probably thinking, a white kids patio set?! Mama you’re crazy!! But fear not my fellow moms, these tables are completely spill safe! Spilled ketchup wipes straight off, no annoying stains left behind.
As I mentioned, they are made from recycled plastic so there are no chances of the kids getting any nasty splinters.
I just love this rustic looking mini picnic table, perfect for the kids to enjoy when eating their meals.
Aura was helping me to decorate the tables, while Tudor was getting involved grilling some strawberries for our lunch! (Don’t worry guys the grill wasn’t on 😉)
It’s not just during the day when the sun is shining that this table really stands out, check out how BEAUTIFUL these sets both look as the sun starts to set and the outdoor lights come one.
POLYWOOD have honestly created the most beautiful, family friendly patio sets with our planet’s future in mind ♻🌎💚
Keeping it real…
Every parent knows the STRUGGLES of trying to get photos with two toddlers both looking at the camera. This shoot both of my cuties could not stop eating the props! 🍓🍊
Here are some bloopers from the BTS, because they were too funny not to share with you all!
