Happy Mothers Day from me to you
Happy Mother’s Day to all moms, step moms, foster moms, future moms, hearts longing to be a mom, and the moms who are no longer with us. Today we honor you! ♥
This week for Mother’s Day I thought it would be fun to talk about how vacations have changed since I became a mom…
“Silence is golden… Until you have kids… then silence is suspicious!”
Lounging by the pool
Oh the days of soaking up the sun! A day spent lounging around the pool, pina colada in hand and diving into my latest issue Elle Decor... Not anymore!
From water slides, sprinklers, to napping in the shade, repeatedly topping up sun screen and the mama hat patrol on duty these two crazy kids keep mom on her toes!
Shop the look!
Mom’s Bag
I remember proudly carrying my cute purse everywhere I went, with nothing more than my cell phone, wallet and keys inside.
Mama’s bag now resembles more of Mary Poppins bag, you name it I got it in there…
Water bottles? Sure
A whole toy store? You betcha!
Kids used Tissue? What mama does not?!
Random snacks? Sometimes we need to keep those kiddies quiet!
Lollipops & fruit gummies are usually hiding in there too!
I also have a ziplock bag with an assortment of Minion and Frozen band aids .
a long car ride with kids…
Pre kids my husband and I would take off on spontaneous weekend road trips, turning up the radio, gazing at one another singing along to our favourite songs.
Long car rides now consist multiple potty breaks… snack breaks.. and of course making sure Wags has his water!🐶
We love keeping the kids entertained by playing car games! Our favourite is I Spy… by the 5th round Aura thought a nap would be a better idea😉
Reaching our destination
Making it to our final destination… I feel like I’ve aged years, by this point I’ve heard the word mama 10,000 times, the car is slowly filling with snack wrappers… then we got the kids out of the car and their faces light up, a twinkle in their eyes with excitement. Like a wave from a magic wand, the stress from that car journey just melts away as if it never happened…
Seeing Tudor and Aura explore, trying different activities really does make the whole trip! They were so brave the riding on the pony. We met a large tortoise named Bula, which the kids LOVED and they had a million questions for mama and dad about her…Thank God for the park ranger helping us out with that one 😂

Photo credit - Mr Tripod, who then proceeded to fall off the car whilst mamas phone was still attached… it’s safe to say Mr tripod with the octopus legs did NOT make it back with us! 👇
An ICed Coffee
Now many of our trips these days require a coffee to fuel mom and dad! How many times do you microwave your cold coffee before you give up and drink it cold? 😂
I’m pretty sure iced coffee’s were invented for us mamas! I’m a vanilla iced coffee kind of gal myself… what’s yours?
⭐Well done to Tudor who got his Junior Ranger Badge on this trip ⭐ This cute little ranger learned how to identify wildlife, what he needs to bring when going on trails & learned to read maps! - I think we have a future explorer on our hands!
Maybe photographing cactus should be my new hobby?! ;)🌵
